Overall, all I can say is that Madcap's quality is above par.The Grand Rapids area is also home to an abundance of locally owned coffee shops featuring selections from the companies profiled above and other master roasters. It is a 50/25/25 blend T-shirt by American Apparel. I went with one of their tee's to add to the collection. Merch.they had an impressive merch section with all sorts of gear. The colors were crazy and walking in was a pleasant surprise. Second only to Lamplighter in Richmond, VA. Speaking of props, Madcap also gets my "Best Coffee Shop Bathroom" award. They were putting 110% into it and doing that in Grand Rapids of all places, I have to give them big props. With awards displayed and how buttoned up everything was, I couldnt deny this stuff. Tried a Cortado with their Third Coast Espresso and coffee/milk ratio was near perfect. Set up well and the barista bar was kind of elevated but as I took it all in, I was pretty overwhelmed with my options and I didn't know where to start. Some say they are worth their weight in gold. I rode down to this shop and was excited because it's one of the big names I hear thrown around and for some reason, their bags of beans are always particularly expensive. I guess Michiganians say that their coast is considered the third coast because of the size of their massive lake. This is where I learned that there was a "Third Coast".
